I have 4 male Festea and 3 Female which reside in 2 different tanks. My males seem to have 3 different strains of coloring. I have seen posts with pics of males that look just like females, males solid gold like mine, ones that look more solid green like my little one, and dull green with bars showing like my other two(the most boring if you ask me). How many different color strains of male Festae exist? The first pic is of my 2.5" Umbee eating "florescent green" male, the next 2 pics are of my favorte "gold or yellow" colored 7" male(similar to the one on the Raps site), the next 2 pics are of my boring, dull green colored male that is also approaching the 7" mark, I have seen this fish go from a dull green to a dull yellow with dark bars at times, but hasnt been anything impressive looking yet. The last one os of my 5" male that looks like the other "dull green" male. The little "Florescent green" male is an F2, all the others are wild F0's. My wilds I bought when they were at the 3.5-4" mark and were colored the same at thier smaller sizes and have not changed a bit with growth.

If anyone has a different color strain in their male Festaes please feel free to post pics!

I second that. All RT's. I enjoy the Yellow/Greenish coloration the most. It brings out the red caudal/dorsal fins.

Great looking fish.

They are all Festaes, they just have different color patterns is what I am getting at. The first pic is a second generation fish and the rest are F0's, wild caught, Festae. My question is on the different color patterns I have seen on male Festae and how many exist? I have been told that when they mature the all look like my gold one. Not true. I have seen solid yellish greens, dull greens with bars, and dull yellows with bars at maturity. Im just wondering if they come from different areas when collected.
