Just wanted to share some terrible pictures and make sure I'm not dillusional.

I was going to get rid of it to get a female, but I decided to keep it and also get a female to try and breed them when they mature. I've never bred anything before.

I wanna say it looks like a female NOT in breeding color?? Males have more spangling and bars are not so wide and blue. Just my thinking.
I was wondering that, but from what I read, the females lose the blue spangles and this one still has them despite how the pictures look. I don't notice any black on any fins, either.

Right now, I have the female that I got from Rapps in with my motas in a 40 breeder (obviously not a permanent tank). It's about 4" by my judgement, whereas the "male" is probably 5.5". I'm wondering if I should put it with the "male". What do y'all think? It's in a 300 with 3 peacock bass, a flagtail and 2 other fish that are going to be moved tomorrow.

Looks more male to Me, but somtimes they will fool Ya

Nice pickup,by the way

Iv'e tried to sex this one everytime I go to your house..lol.

The bigger it gets, the more it looks male to me.

I'd give it a shot and put the female in with him. Just keep a close eye.

Thanks, guys.

The "male" I've actually had for quite a while...got it at about 2 inches.

I'll probably put the female in the 300 tomorrow...don't want to move it again in one day.

UGH! Tried putting it with the male, but everyone was messing with it and it was starting to get beat up, so I put it with the male mota. Hope it grows quickly enough to defend itself better.
