Nice Grammodes but I have a hard time believing he grew from .5" to almost 8" in 12 months....(and I don't even hate you lol.)

I have the brother and it's 7" right now. When I saw Gary's Grammodes when I visited a month ago, it was bigger and bulkier than my male.

hell yeah i love him!!! i hope myn turn out like that im going for a pair, buying 4 F0's from don conkel!!

Man i wish i could get one would love to have a grammode tank

But i'm not sure if i wan't another cichlid mainly because i've heard that some like to hide all the time are there slow growth rate i've also heard they can be pretty shy if i got one it would go in a species tank so mabye that will make it more out going

How do you guys get them to grow so fast Gary/Gani? WTF? What size POND are you keeping them in! :banher:

BTW, nice Grammode Gary......... now you can add him to the list w/ the RTM's that you'll be selling me!

beautiful fish, too bad theres none of these guys around over here :(
Thanks. Is Grammodes banned in Australia like Argentea as well?

Polomax, I have no idea how you get fish to grow so well. All your fish look fat and happy. IMO you get the trophy for getting fish to grow out fast. I'd love to know your secret! Nice grammodes, I'd love to get one to grow out that big!
Not much of a secret. I always deworm my fish when I first got them. Then, just water changes and feed them dried krills, biogold plus, massivore, and excel.

That's a good looking grammodes. This is the only fish on my "must have" list that I still don't have. There's only one source in town and they want $90 for 3" to 4". I'll probably place an order with Rapps when my new tank is ready to go (a couple of more weeks).

Thanks for posting those pics. :)
Thanks.

Keep up the good work.

I think they grow about .25 to .5' per month depending on tank size and food the you feed them. I found that the riverine cichlids grow extremely slow such as tomo, chuco, theraps and of course the astroheros.

Good to see you man! I am in awe of your fish as always brother! What are you using for that growth rate?!? Man That is one great looking Grammode! If anyone is wondering Conkle has Grammodes, I just got another with BaldTaxGuy and MikeG2929.....They are looking great!

Again, Polo, I am in awe, and as well agree on your Pic taking ability!

Thanks buddy. How are your fish dealing blazing temperature now? In the valley, it is about 107 degree now.

yeah, the drawback of grammodes is that they hide alot.

Please tell me your secret too. I got mine at .75" and it's now 4" eight months later. :irked:
Deworming, water change, plenty of krills and hikari pellets. :)

I'm trying to get mine eating pellets. I have him eating a few of the Hikari Sinking Carnivore now. It is similar to the Massivore but much smaller. My male is not shy and actually comes out and swims in front of the glass when I sit in front of the tank. He just doesn't eat much at all, never has. He came from Rapps. He is alone in a well-filtered 55 gallon tank, water is 82F, and I do a 60% water change each week. I think if he just ate more he'd get bigger. Thanks for the info.

Too much breeding going on. They're all doing great and eating a lot too.
