Male Juvenile Dovii

I have a female Dovii around 9' inches but she is on lockdown for attempted murder of a 10' inch male Jag. I had to put my little 3' inch male Dovii on lockdown for murdering a catfish, then I had to put a divider in the tank because he was trying to murder my 6' inch Tiger Shovel Nose. My little male Dovii is getting quite aggressive to only be 3' inches. I am hoping that when he grows he and my 9' inch female can become a pair. My 3' inch male will probably serve a three month sentence in maximum security, at least until I relocate my Tiger Shovel Nose.

Hate to say it but you better hope your female stops growing for a year so the male can pass her. Usually pairs only work when the female is 2/3's the size of the male as they will beat the heck out of the male when they are larger. I had my old 7" female pair off with a 5.5" male and after he fertilized the eggs she dang near killed him that same night.
Your right, by the time he gets old enough to date she will be around 12' inches or bigger. Mabe I will try to find him a girl friend around his size or smaller. Probably smaller because even though the males get larger than the females, the females appear to grow faster.
