Male Motaguense compatibility

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
if he is only two inches I would try giant danios because he wont catch those. at least not yet. ive had giant danios and ive had silver dollars. each in a 4' tank. and silver dollars are way to wild for me. always slamming into everything in the tank. including the walls of the tank. but giant danios are way more controlled swimmers. their movements are way less sporadic.
i would go with giant danios.
but i honestly think anything you add will eventually be killed.

Well I'll debate on it, anyway he is supposed to be a wet pet but I would love a little movement in the tank if possible though! Here he is btw

I would say a 75g is minimum for a pair. That's what I have for my male and 3 females (divided)

I have no idea where I'm going to find some female, but I'll look, I don't want to spend over $30 though, so I think shipping is out of the option. I found mine in a LFS in Dallas about an hour from where I live so I will call them later!

Do you leave the tank divided the whole time and just take it down when trying to breed the Motaguense?

Well I have not bread them yet but I will be leaving the divider up the whole time i cant keep an eye on them a whole lot because of work but I will be making few holes big enough only for the female
