From the attached picture of my 2.5" GT can you tell the sex? I am guessing female because of the vertical stripes near the spot but the dorsal fin seems to be getting longer by the day. But is it even possible to sex a GT at this age?

Fins are healing from the fish store and fish is coloring up more as the days go by.

it hard to say when it this young. maybe male.

100% female

I had one a couple years ago that looked nearly identical to that. The lack of coloration on the body and fins, and the two bold black markings on the body and cheek area usually indicate a female IME.

yeah def female, lack of irridescent body color and no design within the unpaired fines makes it 100% female, when i was growing out my pair my female got trailers and a small nuchal hump before my male did but these characteristics were different from the start

i personally would wait till it gets a lil bigger and older yea you can use body features to tell buy its not accurate especially that young just because it looks like a sex someone else had does not mean thats what it is.

^^ That is a female. No question.
