Male or Female Jack Dempsey ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Definitely a female. The blue splotching on the gill plates is a female. As for your EBJD's, you'll just have to wait and see. If I were you though I'd separate the one that's got a little beak going on.

Also i would suggest be careful alot of people claim blue gene get proof that validates they're claim. ALOT OF PEOPle get stuff from somewhere that said it was blue gene.I have LEARNED THis the hard way. True blue gene MAY BE worth a little more because of time to grow then etc its kind of hard but
at least a few photos or eggs and fry with ebjd or blue gene or red jack alot of people are pawning reg as blue gene.

i was wondering about the reputablility of people claiming they have BG jacks .. i mean you really can't tell.. It almost seems easier to just breed the EBJD w/ the Reg JD .. and get some BGJD , then breed that w/ the EBJD again.. but that just seems like a bad idea genetically.

It is, that's how so many deformed EBJD's have come to be. The responsible thing to do is find 2 EBJD from entirely different bloodlines as well as 2 females (doesn't matter if they're BGJD or not if you get EB fry) from entirely different blood lines and cross their offspring with each other.

good luck brotha... Man i wish i could find a BGJD Female. would save me alot of time and genetic issues .

Female.

Yup, its like that old tool that keeps getting in the way and you're always trippin over it. But when you need it, you just can't find it. LOL
