Agrre with the others.
The lack of blue and spots on the lower gill plate are male traits.
The elongated (pointed) tips of the dorsal and anal fin are also male traits, but not quite as definitive as the lack of a blue "beard"..

As a general rule, with many cichlids of the new world (especially Central America, and Mexico,
males have more pointed fin tips
