I would say the general appearance of the original posters fish is male and will continue to transform and develop as such...my male that I have spawned still had round female like fins at around 8 inches...in my observations/opinion male jags masculine characteristic occurs at not the same exact time/size for each but within an approximate time /size range with them maturing at their own individual rate....like in humans with some guys that can grow a beard at 14, a larger number by age 18 and most all by 21......
