Male or Female parachromis friedrichsthalii

If its in a community with more alpha cichlids, maybe it needs it own tank to grow out, and feel comfortable in.
Or just the opposite, if its more or less solo in a tank, it may need non-cichlid type dithers.

Starting to see some spots on the lower gill plate/jaw- line ... Any possibility it could be a male?

Looks 100% female to me. These pics are of male female pantanos de centla. The females in spawning colouration fanning eggs.
