I'd say it's male. There's that 'high yellow' pattern of ornate I've noticed before. My male has the same pattern.

Very nice ornate, plump with great pattern! I'm going to agree that it is too young to sex at this point.

Not sure if being a male vs female plays heavily into agression with bichirs, as IME it depends on the individual. My worst offender rt now is a female lapradei who bites my female ornate, who is very laid back and won't respond or bully the smaller senegals. (Must be jealous of her good looks)
