Male or female?

It was sold to me as a male, if its a female thats good too cause i have a lil male stuner for it lol, but really confused about this one cause the red on the head
 
Look at this little guy he is 2.5 inch way differnt bofy shape, he is on the other side of the divder and when tjat big possible female comes up to him he tail slaps it that could be a give away that the larger one is a female right?

Well I think it is a she, her and the little male seem to have connected, and when she comes up to the divder he tail slaps her and starts shaking his head like crazy, sure signs!

Now asuming she does turn out a she, I have to get the male who is half the size up to her size or bigger, correct?
 
Not always. Usually females don't except smaller mates but it does happen. If they seem to spend time together they may pair off and if they do once he gets mature enough you should be able to get them to spawn. Good luck!

Looks female to me too. But I'm not 100%. I say pull rest of the fish out and leave just the two divided. Within a month they'll settle and start showing off. Observe behavior, colors, and body profiles to help determine proper sex.
