Male or Female?

The small spots on the gill plate of both, suggest they are both male, along with body, and fin shape, to me.
Yeah up until a couple weeks ago I thought i knew, there generally very easy to sex at this size. The guy i bought the bigger one with the damaged fin said it was female. Normally I would assume they were mistaken but his fish room was incredible so I gave him credit for knowing his stuff.
Well just remember for next time, just always take everything that someone else says with a grain of salt. No one person is an absolute master. Take me for example, I have 13 years of fish keeping experience and I still make mistakes and I still learn new things almost everyday. Most ppl like to think they know everything but there is not a single person out there that does.
