finnage looks more female to me, but a better side shot would help.

Male! Females only get a thin gold line on tail. They also have more blue/green on the chin much like a female jack dempsey.

I'm leaning towards it being a male. The color is pretty intense for a female, especially the orange band in the caudal being as wide as it is. A side shot with the fishes fins extended would be better to make a decision from. Here's a 10" male that I have. Yours looks quite similar to mine.
