seeing your rays at a lager size reminds me of those red retics that were around what about a year ago or so. what size is that tank? do you still have your pond? they look very heathy keep it up Miles.
You should see the female, she is VERY dark red/maroon.. looks just like one of those red reticulata. She didn't want to come out of the corner for pictures, and the flash usually kills the nice red hue anyways. I think it has to do with food source, she loves her krill.

Sold the pond a while back.. eventually will go back to something like that, but not with the reticulata.. trying to import some other Peru rays. Right now these rays are in a 96x30x30" but will eventually be downgraded to a 72x24x24" in order to make room for those import rays. I currently have 2m/3f and BigSpizz has the rest of the crew ;) eventually we will mix em up for genetics,etc..

Looks good Miles. Have you noticed much of a change in his pattern as he had grown? He still looks as good as a year ago.

Not really.. waiting for it to recess and go away eventually. This ray was an oddball at the LFS and had a much different pattern and a much darker under-pattern. It seems to be holding strong, hopefully it won't fade.. who knows, maybe their are lots of variants of Reticulata and these stay smaller and hold their pattern compared to some of the large brown adults you see.

Thanks for all the kind comments everyone. :D

looks good miles...
