Male Umbee

George I wanted to ask if you're still keeping him and the female together?
Also what are you feeding them? My male is about 6" now and he seems to prefer the floating Hikari sticks to sinking pellets.Don't know if it's the taste or the fact that he likes smacking things off the surface.lol I feed him market shrimp a couple of times a week too.

Mikenice umbee, I agree with whoever said umbee over dovii. dont get me wrong dovii are awsome, but umbee are much better looking.

I have always kept the two together from the day I picked them up. They have been together since they were about 4-5". He gets crazy once in a while but I have a couple of rock piles that she can duck into until he calms down. They pretty much live in harmony.
I fedd them once a day. They get freeze dried krill 4 times a week, some NLS jumbo pellets and some frozen foods as treats a few times a week (shrimp, squid strips, peices of fish etc...). My male is about 14" now. They get real interactive when they get to about 10". It seems like their personality changes at around that size. I think they believe they can take you out when they get that big.LOL
Be patient and you will be amazed at how they act when they are mature. You haven't seen anything yet!! I've had a few pairs over the years and they are by far my favorite fish.

I agree, The Umbee is also my favorite fish. It is a complete fish with size, beauty and strength. I should hire you to take pictures of my wild caught pair. Your pictures look great.
