I'd believe it. Those Golden Orbs (for those wanting to find one for purchase) get frickin' massive! I'll post a pic later when I get home of a similar specimen at one of the zoo's up here. Note to tourists, if walking thru the Nth Qld rainforest, keep your eyes up off the ground, these things love to string webs across walking tracks, and, although fairly harmless, having one of these crawling on your head will cause you to soil your underwear!

You have to fight and kick and punch and claw and bite your way out of that spiderweb. If you pass out, shortly later, he would inject his venom into your body transforming your insides into spider stew. Then he would proceed to suck you dry and throw away your hollow carcass.

this thread is epic! that spider is real i have seen them. they actually produce the strongest silk and some of its actually a golden color.it isnt to rare actually that one would eat a bird i dont understand what the fuss is.
jeox the spiders that make that web are actually small they wouldnt harm you and the only harm done would be there ripped web.
