Male cuviers can get just over 5 foot. Females tend to be 4 foot or just under.
Male schnieders can get to 7.5 feet, with a max recorded at 8.5 feet. BUT females reach 4.5 foot up to a max of 5. But remember ALL dwarfs tend to be slow growers with females growing very slow
Schnieders are marginally bigger, but look far greater, need less water and tend to be slightly more active. Another big but is cuviers can take more cold than schnieders.
To me the decision was originally hard. After looking at sub adult and adult pics, the decision became easy. Female schnieders for the WIN.
Found one via one of my Reptile Distributor contacts, he knew a guy in Texas that bred them and sure enough he has two Smooth Fronted Caimans that he is willing to sell for $120 since we have a common friend, only down side is that they are small at around 9 inches long
That still is a little older than hatchling which is great!! How and what are they eatting?? 120 is a great deal. Is that each or both?? Each is a great deal, if for both ill have to .
Good idea to get the smooth fronts, you wont be disappointed!!
Just for one, but yeah that is a great price considering that I saw them during the summer for $250-$300. As to the rest, I'll get back with you once he answers me on FB. Som
LP about how big was yours when you got it and how have the growth rates been, right now I have a Waterland Tub that is 76x32 and I am wondering how long that would do her
