Man Blows Himself Up While Trying To Take Selfie With A Grenade!

A Russian man has died after posing for a photo with a hand grenade after pulling out the pin.
Alexander "Sasha" Chechik sent an image to some his friend's phones showing him holding the grenade a short period before it detonated and blew him apart.
Police say that Chechik sent several images to friends and they think that he did not intend to kill himself.

Hello; A couple of things come to mind. None should be taken too seriously.
First, while deadly, a grenade is not super powerful. As stupid as that may sound I do think it is somewhat relative. Plenty enough explosive power to do fatal damage. Correct my thinking but the constraints are that grenades must be light enough to be carried around and also to be tossed a reasonable distance. The outer case is often metal that is engineered to crack apart into pieces that become flying fragments. I may be wrong but the tactical use of grenades may be as much to wound and take soldiers out of action as to kill outright.

Next is the car has an open top which may have allowed much of the force to dissipate into the air.

Still must have been plenty to do damage to the guy. Part of the picture is blurred.

Made me think of some outstanding citizens around here who a few years ago decided to shoot apples off each other's heads. Must be redneck hillbillies in Russia also.

Maybe he dropped it on the floor by his feet. Or between his legs.
