My 12" male Jag and my 7" female dovii have spawned. Not sure what I'll do with the fry should they hatch but I'm gonna let it ride for the time being. Curiosity has me very tempted to try and grow them out to see what traits get passed on to the offspring.

cant wait to see what happens maybe they will be the new ebjd

Eric, that's awesome...if you need to send fry to a good home I can always do another drive by!

i do believe they been crossed before on here. you may find them in the search box or hybrids if you want to see what they look like.

Yeah, I've seen a bunch. Seems like they either take after the mother or the father. I have yet to see a specimen that has the perfect mix of both though.

BTW, both of these fish have been for sale for a while now and after the fry are stable I'll be looking to get rid of them as originally planned.

Here's a video of the two, and their neighbors:

awesome Vids.. Man my sev's are the same way.. I have three spawns rite now in my 92 gallon... good luck man!!!

Got worried when I saw fungus growing on some of the eggs and almost wrote them off. But, lo and behold, they've got wrigglers.

I've since moved the midas fry into their own tank and, If all goes well, I'll soon be doing the same with this brood. Looks like I've got an unexpected new grow out project. I can't wait to see how the develop.
