Yeah, the male midas is a nut. That's why I removed their fry. Hopefully that'll mellow him out. I must say that, considering that they're sharing a tank with a bunch of boisterous Amphilophus, the jag/dovii pair are doing a great job so far. Taking a beating though, even the 12" jag who is the biggest in the tank. Busted lip, scarred forehead, torn fins.
So, the fry are on their own and doing great in a 10 gal for the time being. I'm feeding the crap out of them; decapsulated BS eggs, crushed flakes and first bites. Not the biggest brood, maybe 100 or so, but growing fast. I'll get pics up soon.
