Sure, if you let your friends go fishing in your tank and they killed a healthy fish for dinner. But so far we are referring to fish that have died in someone's tank. I'm thinking these fish died of old age, sickness, or even killed by another fish. I second cyberhog05, YUCK, lol.

Sure, if you let your friends go fishing in your tank and they killed a healthy fish for dinner. But so far we are referring to fish that have died in someone's tank. I'm thinking these fish died of old age, sickness, or even killed by another fish. I second cyberhog05, YUCK, lol.
Allways makes me kind of sad. But to see them love in asian markets saddens me more.
Tank fish should not be eaten. The stuff we put in the water and the food we give them make for a lousy meal.

I would never eat fishes raised in aquaria as pets, yet I have ate monster fishes sold at grocery stores (iridescent shark, same as swai fillet).
I guess when they are all dead and cut, fishes are just dishes.
You never know, maybe these catfish fillet found at stores are from RTC and not channel catfish. LOL

I've heard RTC meat is darker and not very pleasant looking or tasty. That is why they use RTC x TSN hybrids in some South American fish farms. I guess the TSN has better meat but they still want the growth of the RTC. Kinda like the reason people made the mule (same idea, different uses)
We can't really judge how something will taste by what it eats. Muscovy duck is supposed ro be the best duck to eat and they eat flies. If you want to really get sick watch what free range chickens eat. Better yet look where eggs come from. The part about the dechlorination products does make me worry though but then again if it were poison the fish should die.
I guess if we want to eat our pet fish we shouldn't use Prime and the likes.

R1 I wouldn't read to much into that article Just the animal rights looking for a new way to line their pockets. The beans come to us the same way eggs do makes a guy wonder.
If i were there i would have ordered many of those alive from them !!! I hope that they can do it !!!?? Like here in my place i can get one alive from fish market if i tell them .....also the best part is that you don't have to pay alot for you native ( exotic ) fish...!!!:thumbup:
