Im thinking of getting a larger tank for a BIGish mantis :D Like a 12''er :D

So like a big peacock or a zebra?

A peacock could work in a 29 or a 30
Zebras I'd imagine would need more

Zebras need 75 gallons, because most of the space is filled with not water, but sand. Peacocks need 40 gallons as listed by Dr. Roy Caldwell (120 liters)

It's not actually about tank volume though. I think that talking about aquarium size for animals by volume and not tank footprint is just stupid.

A peacock mantis would need a tank that is 30"x10"x20" IMO, although 35x15x35 would be better. WxHxD, of course.

A zebra mantis would need like a (WxHxD again) 40"x24"x36" at the very bare minimum, unless you pen the animal in an enclosure surrounding it's original burrow in the wild.
