my mango pleco has changed to almost an albino color. is he sick or stressed? i have him in a 60 gal with 10 small indos and 4 clown loaches and the other fish seem to be ok.

does anyone have an idea what can be happening?

wow.. interesting..

I've never seen anything like that... If he's not developing disease.... i would say either he's color morph..

OR he's blending in the environment... ur tank is bare bottom..... maybe its stress..?

This is the first time i've seen a mango do that.. And i have a mango of my own.. with a thin layer of gravel in my tank...

Would be interesting to see if it stays the same color with a tank that isn't barebottom...

Ive seen and heard a few cases like this, the fish sometimes regain their original colour. The ones Ive heard of are usually fine afterwards, I havent heard a good explanation yet.

I have a goldfish that changed liked this(looks about the same color)...it was last summer, he's still alive and active.

Don't know if it's a death signal or just a change.

Well hopefully he doesn't die. He is still active and eats. Maybe it's just a stage he's going through. I will be sure to keep an on him and keep u guys updated

hope he makes it through! havent you given him anywhere to hide? like a cave or something
