EBAY! well iv seen them on there before

Some stores in my area have them from time to time. They usually have them floating in one the coral tanks untill someone buys them.Check with the better stores in your area that deal with saltwater, they could probably order them for you.

yup. my LFS has them from time to time too. they should be on the stock lists that your LFS receives. ask them to order you some.
The next time I see one I might get it and try to grow it as a houseplant.

My lfs has them in right now in with all their other plants which made me do some research and found out mangroves can also grow in freshwater which is making me consider growing some in my sump if i can get a little more light down there

Yup..i have about 15 in my 150 g sump with artificial light. They grow extremely slow. Wish i already have a fully grown mangroves that would be awesome. Too bad you cant collect in FL , they're restricted. Imagine the enormous amount of waste a fully grown mangrove can remove.

and the space it would require.:)

I agree mangroves grow very slowly, but they are pretty cool plants. I have some black mangroves that I am growing as riparium plants and they are just starting to get bigger and more bushy--I started them more than a year ago. They get a new set of leaves only every 6 weeks or so.

Another plant that you wight try for brackish water that might work better as cover and for filtration is Java fern, especially if you can grow it emersed. Here is a Java fern that I have growing on a trellis raft.

I have only tried these in (hard) freshawater, but I understand that will also grow in brackish conditions.
