Mangrove substrate

For lighting the tank I've got 4x 38w tubes, 1x 125 HQL and 2x 150 HQI. Only one HQI is on at the moment...

Shiroi pretty much sums up the reason for choosing red mangrove. That, and the fact that a convenient opportunity came accross.

The only FTS I can find for now is, again, an old one, from the time I was setting the thing up. And the last one for this thread, I feel like I'm hi-jacking it completely.
I'll try and take fresh shots of the tank and start a thread to explain it to a bit more detail.

Well, this thread has inspired me a bit so I'm going to experiment with a couple of my mangroves and see what produces the best results as far as growing them. I pulled one loose let it float to the top and waited it so it stays in position, but I put it in a current to try to promote the signature root growth. I pulled another one out and stuck it in a pot with a thin layer of very muddy soil and then flooded it so only the top sticks out of the water. I'm going to leave this one outside in the sun. I'll let you guys know what happens. If anybody has any other suggestions let me know and I'll try them. My tanks just a grow out to so why not experiment a little, right.
