fruit flies, bean beetles, roach nymphs, springtails, phoenix worms, pinheads.
I do culture the fruit flies my self.
I make my own media ( www.dartfrogdungeon.com)
1/2 cup media, 1/4 hot water 1/4 cup vinegar ( more or less to get to a runny mashed potatoe consistency) let it cool, Add a pinch of active yeast, some excelsior and add about 50-100 flies![]()
Culturing flies is really simple. Other than having to get the supplies to do it I have on had to but replacement flies 3 times in 5 years.
I also culture the bean beetles, springtails and roaches myself.
Thanks
You than simply add the fruit flies to the container after adding the food and thats it, food doesnt go bad?
Have you had luck culturing live springtails in the tank with the mantellas or they get eaten to fast?
