mantis shrimp molting

Does anyone know how often it is healthy for them to molt? I swear, I've only noticed 1x & I've had him/her for about 9 months. I read that they hide for weeks before molting & my guy is usually pretty active. Do you think I just never noticed, because he ate it? It's a pretty big Peacock & I think I'd notice that big of a molt. Also, what live/dead foods do you feed yours & how often?

i started to feed live goldfish at first that is all he would eat.two weeks later and i am feeding with a feeding stick,frozen/thawed silversides, krill, fresh fillet pieces, snails have been offered but not eaten, and im going to try to put some small hermit crabs.(i try to feed at least once a day but is more like once every other day).i was pretty lucky to see mine molt. i was telling my daughter that the shrimp was acting like our spiders do when they molt. and sure enough right in front of our eyes and quite quickly he started and finished.the spiders can take hours to do the same thing. as soon as he was done molting and he regained his wits he dragged his skin back into his little dugout cave and a day and a half later i watched him eat it up.i try to watch the body language of all my animals,it helps to determine what they need

Not that I would ever would--but I know mine wouldn't eat a GF, because I have a 6-line wrass in there he totally ignores.
