Finally got around to gettng pics of the map turtle I rescued (you can see the details in this thread if you haven't already http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?428082-Mississippi-Map-Turtle-Help
It wasn't cared for very well before I got the turtle so he does have some pyramids, I'll also be redoing it's enclosure shortly, I just wasn't exactly planning on taking on a turtle but I couldn't let him go back to live in the bowl the woman was keeping it in.
If anyone could give me a positive ID on the exact species that would be awesome

I do believe its a false Map turtle

LOL, I really like to know why they are called False Map turtles
 
I agree, it is G. p. pseudogeographica.

Methos- "False map" is a literal translation of "pseudogeographica". The northern map turtle, G. geographica, was the first map turtle described. When Gray realized that there was another species, he named it "pseudogeographica" to indicate that it was similar to, but not the same as, the "true" map turtle. The various other Graptemys species were not described until much later.
