Marble convict gene

Does anyone know if you can produce calico/marble convict from scratch? Or does it randomly happen?

What's up bubby? How did your calico project work out? But I think you should be able to make them from scratch. I hope someone with some real experience could shed some light on this question.

Sadly they passed a while back. The tank they where in got poisoned. I've been trying to see what I can find on google but nothing really. I remember on one of the old calico threads someone posted a link to a good site that had more info on the calico gene.

That's link is cool. But it suggests or assumes that coloration is only controlled by a single allele pair. What if it's not?

I understand the calico gene, I want to know if u can make the gene from scratch.

Well I think like any con the parents would have to carry the gene. How they get it I'm not sure. The way it's described it seems impossible but it's not.

I think if u breed a pink x black convict and u keep breeding the babies together that marbles will pop up.
