John, I'd love to do some trading once your projects gets going, cause we all know it's just a matter of time......
Mom and pups are doing well. I just moved the pups to a passthrough 40 on pond water. I'll get some pics after they have some time to settle in. Don't think they enjoyed the move very much. Couldn't get pics from the other tank as being dark and 3 foot deep (wide) just wouldn't allow.
I don't see this whole project starting to pay off anytime soon... LOL Don't really have any cheap Marbles.... I do however have an outstanding relationship with my local deli....
The 2 that didn't make it, IS it possible they were basically stuffed full of sand from being stuck under mom? Both appeared to have a lot of sand in thier mouth and spearacles.....

I always removed the pups as soon as I found them. One did spend the better part of a day in the main tank with the adults, but there weren't any problems. I always keep filter sponges in my sump so setting up a pup tank is a breeze. I would syphon water out of the main tank along with some sand into a 40 breeder (the pup tank) and hook up a filter with the seeded sponge and heater and put the pups in. Would try to get the pup tank set up prior to the birth.
I found the pups would start to eat chopped worms a few days after birth. Skip the black worms.
