Marble progress... AKA the ugly stick.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
On a lighter note, she was beautiful as a smaller ray. If she ever has pups, sell them for high dollar while they look good LOL! She still is a pretty ray.

Thanks man. I think she's still pretty, I know I've had a bunch of Marbles that looked a lot worse then she is..... Just not as pretty as she once was. Her mom is drop dead gorgeous and the dad is even better. It will be interesting to see how much she improves now that she's hit rock bottom and on the rebound.

Lets just hope she doesn't fall off the wagon.....LOL

Any possibility that her surroundings changed and so her change in appearance is due to these changes? most notably stress?
Like, how was the "stunning" young pup kept?
And then later, how was the more adult MM kept?
What were her tankmates?

I know that with Leo's, spotting often changes due to stress....

Very possible that it's stress related....

Kept alone or with a few payara for the first 5-6 months. Then got a few additions before going into the pond. She's now the same size as the biggest female in my growout and much larger than any male in there.

I personally think that along with/or hand in hand with, stress that the envirement plays a huge role, lighting and substrate. Messing with these seems to give a Marble many different looks..... :nilly:

Just look at the difference from when she was first introduced to the growout (the last of the 1st group of pics) to the most recent photos. Good lighting, light substrate, co-ruler of the tank with no rays that pose a threat to her.

Here's a lil bump for those of you breeding Marbles.

Can't judge a smile based on baby teeth.
