i left it for a day or two. lots of people were telling me to take the ray out of the water and surgically remove it.
and yet just as many said leave it due to stressing the ray pup out too much.
i kind of agreed with both. and when i thought it was completely dead (and worried about subsiquent infection) i gave the dead portion a helpful push .... with a pair of scissors whilst still in the water.
so it kind of came off itself but with a little help at the same time lol.
