I called my LFS today and asked them if they could get in marbled cat sharks and the owner said they couldand that he can get them in egg for $30 is this too good to be true? I am worried I might get a brown banded bamboo instead or a marbled bamboo. BTW I could only find one online store that sells them and its for $150, but they are hatched.

I've seen them at stores (hatched) for about $100 or so.
$30 seems like a 'too good to be true' deal, and you are right for thinking it might not be a catshark, but a bamboo instead.

Okay lets' clearify something here. Are you looking for a Marbled Catshark or A Marbled Bamboo shark. Because there is a difference.

The Marbled Catshark (Atelomycterus macleayi) grows to about 24" long. Closely related to be the Coral Catshark.

The Marbled Bamboo is another name for the White-spotted Bamboo (Chiloscyllium plagiosum) which grows to about 37" long. And is closely related to the Brown-banded Bamboo.

If you want to get a Marbled Catshark the first question I would ask is where they are imported from. You will only get a Marbled Catshark from Australia and no where else.

I think he's looking for the catshark, but scared he might end up with a bamboo due to mislabling by the supplier.
yes I am, would a coral catshark be easier to get?

Funny thing about suppliers is that sometimes they will mislabel Coral Catsharks as Marbled Catsharks or vice versa.

Coral Catsharks seem to be the prettier species, and generally they are a bit more active.
