Damn theyre ugly.

Ugly is a perception. I think they look....unique, but not ugly. However I can see how some folks could see them as ugly.:)

Are these guys a naturally occurring morph of Viejas or a hybrid.

Dave. Where did you see these?

I think that they are very cool and the colour will be striking in my yet to be stocked 300 gallon tank. I'll post pics once i have one and i'll let people know how they go.

Hi, I am from bris,Australia too and yes there are a few marbled fenesratus (unsure of price).
My pair of V.Fenesratus looks different from this species.

My guess is that they are hybrid but not sure to which other species.

Fishbee- How do you know it is crossbreed with a "piebald" male?
and btw, they are a lot of fish/cichlid that has common name "piebald". Could you please confirm which fish/species are you
talking about?

I think piebald refers to a certain color pattern on an animal.

I know but theres a lot of fish with common name starts with piebald. One of them is an african cichlid. So can't be sure on which fish is fishbee referring to.

the male i refer to as piebald is of course a fene, just a portion of his belly is white, i thought at first that his skin has been peeled off, but it was just a normal fene with a white blotch on his belly, pretty much like a red devil with white blotches .
piebald as darthodo said is just a form of colouration just like albino, leucistic and so on so forth
