Anyone have experience with these? I know they get big, but not sure if I should get one. Are they hardy? How fast do they grow? Thanks in advance

I bought a 2-3" one for 10.00. He died though Im trying to find another.
 
Fairly inactive. More of an ambush predator. I had one approching 12". Big mouth, will eat smaller tankmates.
 
I had one for 2 years. Grew to 12", then I sold him. Not acvtive, easy to accept most foods. Will eat any fish it can get into its mouth. There a nice fish

they are cool fish....got 3 of them in my pond.......great ambush predators
 
I had one for about 10 years- she got to be about 12 inches, and bigger around than my hand could grip- easy keeper- as far as my experience went. didn't bother any fish too big to eat, and only once tried to eat a bristlenose pleco that was too big- I had to pry them apart but they both lived.
I really enjoyed mine.
 
Mine is in fresh and i love it, doesn't do much just mopes around bottom of tank but it looks great, i say get it you wont regret it:D

I think one of my plecos chewed on his tail, which got infected. so partially my fault but not 100%.

there pretty cool fish, get around a foot long i believe. But will eat most anything thatll fit in its ginormous mouth.
