Marbled Gobies

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They are also called soon hock, they eat anything. They can reach about 27" long, under ideal conditions they can get a foot long in a year, they tolerate a wide range of salinities but are most often found in fresh or lightly brackish water. I have been bitten by one hard enough to bleed (scared the hell out of me because when they do move, they move sudden).

so they can get agressive, one foot in cm is what:(
so i can keep in fresh for life good
12" = 1' = 30 cm.
Yes, they can be kept in FW for life though 1 tbs salt/5 g will help prevent infections. Most FW fish and plants do well at that level.
They are not really so much aggressive as they are extremely predatory. They tend to sit around like a log then lunge at motion, I was picking out bits of hotdog and it went for my fingers. It also tried to swallow the heater, I think the blinking red light attracted it. When mine was 10" long it ate an 8" large mouth bass, It also ate several channel cats and bullhead cats in that size range.In general it won't bother fish that are to large to eat, but shouldn't be trusted with fish smaller than it is.

thanks guppy, now is housed whit some small fish ,ottos ,golden nugguet, kully loaches,
and 2 silver dats , my idea was to put him and the dats in a tank together but he grows faster than dats

Sudden is an understatement, these suckas can move in the blink of an eye. Plus there teeth are like a wolf fish, so a big one will make you bleed.

oh an heres a pic of the one I had when I brought him home.

Great lil guy to ate frozen krill an plankton right away.

I have a baby marbled.. hes only 2inchs long rite now. Everything I have read said they are inactive but my baby is always out and about, soon as i come to the tank, he comes right up to the glass and he's already eating from my hand. He's in a 75 gal with 2 large Leporinus fasciatus, and 3 small/medium parrot fish. I can't wait for him to get big :D

I should go take a photo of mine.

I bought two from my LFS and they had a red sore on their bodies, seeing how I've never been able to find them I bought them both but sadly they died within a week, I'm still searching for another and I can't find them anywhere... I've been looking a really long time.
