Get the biggest UPS you can find and be prepared for it not to work, I have a few UPS running my PC's and phone systems and they shut down really fast. I do not think it would run an external filter or heater for any time at all.

I am going to buy a small generator for extended power cuts but they are really expensive if you want them to auto start and stop during a power cut.

Thanks for the information I'll buy one anyway as i need one for the PC , if it's anygood i'll switch of the electric and see how long it lasts for.
