Picking up a 20" Marbled Sleeper Goby "Oxyeleotris Marmorata" tonight. Right now this guys is pushing 20"es and the guys says he had him for 9yrs. They say they eat small fish and insects. He will be going in to a 7' tank with the following fish.

Dats: 14", 10" & 9"
Flag Tail: 9"
Ornate: 20"
Endeli: 11"
Oscar: 12"

Do you think he'll try to eat any of them? Or are they too big for this Goby to go after? I never had one before nad always wanted one so I would like to try. But what do you guys think? Anyone with expereince or had friends had one please chime in.

Also do you guys think he will bea easy to train to eat spot fed prawns on a feeding stick?

i have a marbled sleeper goby
he is about 8 inches and ive had him a year, he was 2.5 inches when i got him
i disagree that he doesnt have a massive mouth, he does
i am also unable to have tank mates with him
while he spends most of his time in his skull, he does patrol and is very aggressive toward other fish, more so when there is little or no prey
i have tried several times to give him tank mates, and if he cant eat something he simply kills it, and he has killed fish larger then he is
everything from tank suckers to oscars to fiddler crabs
i feed him crappie minnows, fathead minnows and fresh water shrimp from the local bait shop
i recently added a 6 inch black bullhead the bait shop caught in a minnow trap as it was free and i was a little bored with nothing to look at
so far he chases but has yet to out right attack it
i have a 30 gallon tank
i am curious as to how your 20 incher is doing and if it was able to coexist with you other fish

I just lost mine, She must have been 20"+. Was by far one of my favorite fish, (only topped by my gator gar) She would lay eggs every other month. Ate anything! massivoir, freeze dried krill, even flakes. Great fish. would eat out of my hand, sit on my hand if i set it in the tank. They got big mouths but if the the fish is about the same size it should be fine. I recommend this fish if you got the room for em, theyre awsome

Mine is about four inches and very aggressive to other fish during feeding time. It will chase things it has no chance of eating just to keep them from the food.

Mine is 20" too.... It's sharing its tank with snakeheads, eels and blue knight lobsters..... All is well....
