Marimo Ball and Pleco

I am buying a marimo ball and going to put it into a tank that houses a 3-4in common pleco. Pleco are algae eaters and marimo balls are, well an algae. So my question is whether the Pleco will nibble on the ball?
From what I have read online, plecos don't seem interested in marimo balls.
Anyone have experience with the combination?

He won't touch it unless you have set up a new tank and there is no algea at all even then I am sure it won't

I went on vacation for 2 weeks , when i came back Tank ( my Pleco) had eaten a quarter sized hole in one

I've had a lot of marimos and a lot of plecos together and never had a problem. Maybe if the plecos were really really hungry.

Also, aren't marimos moss and not algae?
