Marine & Brackish 'Have You Ever's'

Ever been working on your tank (mainly larger ones) and were rescaping your rock work and reached for a rock that was too far on the otheside of the tank and accidently fell in because you were too clumsy to move yourself to the other side, LoL.
 
Naw, my sw tanks aren't that big.

Have you ever had a fish curse? (what I mean is that there is just one type of fish that can't seem to live in your tank even though your params are perfect and you have plenty of other stuff that is living perfectly)
 
yeah.. jawfish and watchman gobies.. they always find someway to die

have you ever had a fish jump out and into your hands/lap/face/etc

Have you ever had a fish, that your significant other loves, die and replaced it with the same kind, hoping it would go unnoticed?

:ROFL:Yea when I was staying at my aunts house babysitting for her, my cousin Jacob (who was 5 at the time and a total terror) wanted to go in the hot tub so I told him "Ok that's fine, I will be out there in a minute" welllll.... He decided to get in before I came out, and he had taken the chlorine floater thingy and had gone over and dropped it into my aunts 2,000 gallon Koi pond. (all Koi were gorgeous and over 18" each)
Welll, it took me two hours before I said "hey Jacob, where is that chlorine thing that goes in here, they are not supposed to dry out, where did you throw it?"
So he answered very matter-of-factly "Oh I throwed it in the pish pond to keep it wet. Right over der!"

I thought I was going to vomit. I ran over to the pond, got the chlorine floater and threw it out and immediately turned on the spicket that is connected to a purifyer, and started tossing buckets of water out, BUUUTT it was too late, those poor guys were gone within a few minutes of me getting to them.
So then I had to go hunt down 9 Koi fish that looked the same as hers, and were the same size.... I found 7.

I ended up feeling really guilty and told her everything the day after she got back. She was mad, but not at me, at her son. She laughed her butt of at me and was surprised at the lengths I went to in order to replace her fish. I wanted to kill that little bugger!!!(my cousin)

Have you ever had something like that happen? A total Kill-All from something someone else did!?
 
thankfully no.. it's all been my fault, no i really haven't had anyting like this happen *knock on wood* except for when there's only one fish in the tank :D

have you ever gone to a public aquarium or other non-retail establishment to get an idea for your tank?

I went to the Birch Aquarium a small really good aquarium and saw an awesome reef tank. I mean the best stocked tank I have ever seen. It was so freaking awesome and I saw that it wasn't a big pile of LR but actually LR covering some type of mesh probably a coated metal that made the shape of the mound without using a bunch of LR. It gave me an idea for a new tank I have been saving up to make for a shark that has a reef on top then a large cave underneath the reef so it could have swim room plus I could take up the space with the reef too.
Long explanation but anyway.

Have you ever had one of your tanks burst?

Yes i have and it wasn't funny at all. A 24o glass that i fixed the bottom of it looked in the diy forums on here and see the fix i did it last year. My 19 inch or so jardini dead i was pi--ed. And needless to say my son inlaws were me and my wife lived at the time were not impressed either. I kept saying my fish had him for three years. And they kept saying my house 475 thousand ha ha ha ha ha ha. There basement was finished with three rooms down there damn they were mad but hey it's a joke amoung us now right.

Have you ever had a drunk freind put a bear on top of you' tank. when the top was open to have it fall in. Let me tell you what when i turned aroud and saw a but weiser bottle flotting in my tank that was have full of beer i was more then pissed.
 
haha thankfully no.

have you ever had the person you buy your mixed salt water from screw up the salt level and tell u its right and then it kills ur whole tank cuz it was way off??? (I DID and my 2 rays, and one bamboo cat shark died, it sucked. he gave me money for everything though)
