Just stop blaming the police, they are doing the job that the government has assigned them to do.

The "just following orders" excuse doesnt cut it. A nazi concentration guard was just convicted despite using the same defense as you are.

wow you can never trust them. When i was 14 someone told the school i was building bombs in my house. They closed down 5 schools blocked off my neighborhood and the main road in front of it (5 lanes) and sent the bomb squad in and swat. All for some fireworks. After 2 years in court and $16,000 in lawyer fees i was charged with attempted mischief. Thank you Fishers, IN Police dep.

Most police suck. I was an MP in the USArmy. Went to a domestic disturbance. Lady came up to her screen door with a butcher's knife. Identified myself, unsnapped my weapon holster, held my hand above my weapon. My so-called partner, jumps off the 3' high porch, and starts shaking like a little boy that's gonna pee himself. I told her to keep door closed, put her knife down on her floor, back away from it, or else I would have to draw my weapon. She said, "oh, umm, ok,..... I'm doin' that right now!" She did, I thanked God! That was the longest 45 seconds of my entire life. And my partner on that day, had been my friend. When we were back in the squad car he started apologizing. I cut him off short! I said "our friendship is over. I don't hate you, but we are not friends any more. No matter what you say or do, it's never gonna make up for what you just did!" From my experience, most of them either runaway, or go in fully charged with adrenalin pumping. Either way, mistakes are made. And I truly believe these ppl knew themselves well enough to know that they were going to screw up under pressure! These types of Cops suck!!!

different people will react differently to situations where it's fight or flight. your friend may truley care for you but in a life threatening situation they may freeze up because maybe some people just aren't cut out to be in that line of work. maybe in different situations they may truly come thru for you like if you needed a kidney or $10,000 or whatever. but in a situation where a weapon is pulled, they may wuss out but i don't think it's necessarily because they didn't truly care for you

i gotta admit, if i was in your shoe at the time, it may change something between us even if i didn't want it to, but i wouldn't cut the friendship off completely just because of that. and if they prove in the future that i can depend on them, they can restore the trust

just my two cents on that particular situation

btw, some of these posts are gonna get this thread canned

You don't seem to be following my "snide" comment here. In fact I went on in the post to even go beyond the nazi example that you sited and went all the way to the legal breathing example.

Like I stated (if a law is passed that declares breathing illegal and the entire 100% law abiding population drops dead within four minutes leaving all survivors heinous criminals.

I clearly stated that I could not "just follow orders". That is what separates me from pigs (er, along with the imposable thumb!)

So why not edit your sentence to say some members of the Pima County Sheriffs Office can't be trusted.

Sorry if it offends you as a police officer, but I stand by what I said. I don't trust police and I highly dislike them. But that doesn't mean I'm going to go around disrespecting officers either. I do appreciate the good things they do. But I base my opinions on everything I've seen in the news, and my personal experiences. I'm not a criminal, and I've never been arrested in my life. And even then, I can't say that I've ever had a positive experience with an LEO. Every one I've dealt with has been a power-abusing scumbag that seems to enjoy verbally abusing and picking on defenseless civilians.

Because let's face it, we are defenseless against you guys with your shiny gold badge. You simply cannot say or do anything in your defense. Everything has to be "yes sir, I'm sorry sir, you're right sir". Too many cops these days let their emotions take over on the job, i.e, anger. Yes, they're human too. But if your not capable of putting your personal emotions on hold while your perform your duty, choose another career. Piss them off and you'll end up face down on the pavement with guns drawn while they search your car all based on some horsecrap 'probable cause'. Sure, there might be some good cops out there, but I've yet to meet them. I have a few buddies I know in law enforcement, and I'm glad I'm friends with them. I'd hate to run into them on the street.

And for those that say the Marine got what he deserved because he was aiming a gun at police, I get that. And that is why I'm so against these raids. The cops are put into a position where if they see a gun, they have to open fire to defend themselves, and that isn't right. After all, they want to go home to their families. What about the innocent people that get killed in these raids? And the families they leave behind? And for crap's sake, the dogs that get shot? Even a caged dog in somebody's home is not immune to these trigger-happy tactical monkeys. The military's purpose is to kill and break things. What do you think is gonna happen when we militarize the police like we're doing?

In the video I posted that got deleted, a man was holding a golf club in the hallway. Six seconds after knocking on the door he was dead. They didn't even give him a chance to react. He didn't even charge. One shot to the head, two in the chest. And then, after he's dead, the officer says "Get on the ground!"

And let's face it. Can anybody HONESTLY say that this Marine was trying to take on a SWAT team? They say he was in a crouched position holding the rifle. If he was really hellbent on go against the police, there would have been a pile of SWAT officers in the doorway. He would have picked them off one by one. This guy had done two tours in Iraq. He wasn't a novice around the M4 Carbine. I'm pretty sure it went like this:

- dude gets off work from a 12hr shift, is sleeping
- wife hears noises and see guys in the window, wakes husband up
- dude grabs his rifle, tells his wife and kid to go in the closet
- goes to the hallway and crouches by the doorway, points his gun at the door
- police bust in. dude realizes "oh crap it's the police!". never fires a shot. 71 bullets are sent his way.
- lies in the hallway, gasping for breath as his wife is dragged out of the house
