Marine lighting in freshwater tank

I recently aquired a 5 foot aquarium for my young arowana. Is a good aquaone tank with cabinet etc. etc. It came with bulbs two marine white and two marine blue????
Are these in any way harmful to my fish? Should I change them to others (if so what??)

I did that and grew purple algae in a FW tank. Really cool. I doubt it would be harmful aside from being ridiculously bright for the Aro. Probably too bright, at that.

lights are for you not the fish. i bet he'd rather not have lighting at all if you could ask him because the light n the room is fine.

You could just turn off two of the four bulbs.

I would just take out the purple bulbs. Quick solution.

I only have on the two white ones all four are too bright. Is there any kind of low output lights I could use that wouldnt blind the aro??
