No mec. I'm running an fx5 strictly for mec. 2262 is for bio. I find it to be a great combo. It's not clogging at all, no change in the flow rate. I just did a 6 month cleaning on it and it didn't look that bad. Just had a lot of sand in the canister. Considering how much my petros excrete poo.

I have the purigen in a bag called the bag from seachem.

So how do you stop the crap getting into the 2262?

Do you have something covering the inlet pipe or have the pipe half way to the tank wall?

I placed the powerhead on the same corner where I have the 2262 intake . The fx5 intake is on the opposite corner . The powerhead blows most of the poo towards the fx5...
