So Im looking at these tanks, and really interested. Ive heard about the leaking, but supposably they have fixed it? Im wanting to upgrade in the next year. Was originally gonna go with a 180 standard, but I saw these and thought "these dimensions are perfect." 72"X36"X27". Pro's? Con's? Do you know where I can get one cheap? Lol

Thanks in advance.

I have also seen a few complaints about the larger Marineland tanks leaking. On a side note, any tank can leak. I've have an All-glass tank leak on me years ago!

I bought the 300 DD 72x36 last October and the only "leak" I had was from the corner brace on the top collecting condensation and seeping through a crack and down the front of the glass (very very slow, just a drop here and there) that I fixed as easy as a glob of silicon to fill the crack. Other than that the tanks a beast and I love it!

I bought mine from a store in Framingham MA called a Tropical Isle, not sure where abouts you're located though

Just south of Chicago. I may start asking the LFS around about pricing. Its out of my budget for a while, but eventually this will probably be the one. I figure since it will fit through doorways it is more practical in case I have to move.

I didn't know Marineland made a 300. The biggest they show in their tank spec spreadsheet is the 265g.

Ive heard a decent amount of bad reviews from marineland 300DD.....imo its not worth the price tag and hasstle of moving due to weight just to find out theres a good chance it will leak....

I would invest in a acrylic or go with a fiberglass or make a plywood tank instead

The dry weight of the tank is 550lbs and the site does have the spec on the tank. It's exact measurements are 72.25 x 36.25 x 28.25" high. Not 27" tall. Love the tank just started leaking after 5 yrs.. currently using acrylic..
