Thanks. I love these tanks, too. We needed the added depth for our Fly River Turtle. He was getting too big for the 110 gallon. Here's a pic of him cruising around in his new home. We've since added some Congo tetras and Goyder River Rainbows.

i would kill for that FRT!!!:headbang2:drool::naughty:

I don't know where your holes are located, but if you make one of those 1 1/4 inch pipes a full siphon it will be quiet and take the majority of your flow. If that isn't enough make a second siphon and you still have two as backups for emergencies.

Am I reading the chart wrong? I was also thinking about buying an overflow box and having 4 drains total and running both pumps, or would that be dumb?

Grunting-- I bought this tank from a person who bought it new, and didn't have the money to set it up. It hasn't had water in it until I test filled it today. I paid $1500 for it all

Hmm. They might be older ones that are more powerful? I was going by this, but if you have a chart with them than that would be better to go by.

You have a ton of options. Like Pharaoh said, you could also use all 4 holes as drains. There really is a ton you could do, and it will just come down to personal presence.

I have wanted one of these tanks for a while. I love the 3 foot depth on them. You got a great deal, and that tank is going to be amazing when you get it running.

Thanks for the compliments and help guys. Joe m- all this stuff was bought in march of 2010, so it is a yr old, but did the quiet ones change since then? I never used them. I have two rio from the hf series that I run now. I believe I'm just going to run one. With head that is going to be just over 6x turnover. I'll have a koralia 1400gph for in the tank.

I had a heck of a time getting the Koralia 1400 to stick onto the side of the glass. I think the glass is too thick. It might work for you if you just have fish in your tank, but for us, with the turtle, it wouldn't stay on if the turtle bumped it. Good luck.
