Is this true? Tank failure is my main concern. After going through 1 major failure it kinda changes your priorities.

from what i heard of but thats just me i never
had any problems with the one i had long
time ago and i bought used also... but i only
get acrylic now being glass is such a back
breaker... lol

If this is the case, why not consider going with acrylic? Acrylic is less likely to fail than glass- stronger seams and the material itself is stronger.
Im looking for "deep" tanks, not tall tanks. And marineland in particular. Thanks though!
I've pondered this. But here is my thought train..glass tank is around 1100, acrylic is over twice that. But an 8x3x2 acrylic is only around 3k. So I want to buy the glass tank for now and then when we buy a house get the 8footer in acrylic.
So my lfs just called me and informed me that marineland is currently having a huge sale and that they could do the 200 deep dims forr $1000 or $1100 with starfire front...
