Marineland Double Bright LED?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I ended up buying the double bright 48-60" model. It looks STUNNING, but I have been running the same fluorescent bulb for years. Actually the change was so drastic that it seriously freaked my fish out at first. Hopefully they adjust. I'll be sure to update on that. Overall I am thrilled to stick this on my new 75 when I get it set up.

how hot do these get, beamswork has a dble bright, and all i have heard is how HOT these get,

I have the 36" Double Bright on a 40g and it's good if you have a fish only tank. It can grow Java Fern fine but other than that I have not had any luck with other low-light plants. I like the shimmer effect but I'm going to be switching back to florescent soon.

I had the light on for a little bit yesterday but it is meant for a tank that is not set up yet. The light itself did not get hot at all, but I noticed the power supply got quite warm.

I've had mine for about 10 months and no complaints so far. Its a 48" on a 72" tank so its a little darker on ends when room lights are on, more pronounced without ambient light but that is the look I wanted.

Can you tell me the marine land led you bought? I was looking for one also for my 135 which is the same length as your tank. I am using a shop light now and that just doesn't give my festaes justice!

I'm pretty sure he was saying that he had a Marineland Double Bright. Mine does a spectacular job of lighting my aquarium, and it definitely will do them justice. However, I have owned the light for a very short period of time, so I can not attest to much else about it.
