Marineland Heaters

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Seems to have a lot of mixed reviews. Some people like them. Other people have issues...guess its a buck a piece.

I recommenced jager heaters...and if you have a sump there shouldnt be any worries about them getting damaged. Quality, precision, and at least around here, some of the cheapest heaters you can buy.

In the past year I've had two different styles of marineland heaters die on me. The clear glass one just quit producing heat and the plastic black one kept giving me a green light at 55 degrees. Now I'm trying the down and dirty penn-plax just to see. Hopefully it's my outlet or something else killing them. I don't know yet.

:angryfire Update on the thread. I received my new heater with no problem. New aggrivation now, I came home for lunch today to walk into my house smelling a funny burning smell. I followed into my den where my tank is to find none of my equipment runnning on my tank. Turn the lamp on to see what the problem was to find out the breaker to the den was tripped. I flipped it back on to smell the burn smell even stronger. I check the newly replaced heater and it was fine. Turned out it was my smaller 200 watt heater on the other side of the tank. It was almost boiling under water. I unplugged it and took it out of the water where it smoked for a couple of minutes. The exact same problem with my other heater had happened again. Marineland has a big problem that they need to address. If my breaker had of failed, my house possibily could have caught fire. This is redicuoulous :swear:

As sad as it makes me to say this, marineland has gone down hill.

I wrote them a two page letter after receiving my fourth defective HOT magnum filter in a row.

Told them I was going to buy an eheim. Made me sad not to support an American product, but they forced my hand.

I always have, and always will, use and recommend the eheim/jager heaters.
