Even for the aro? I dont know if hes big enough at 14" to handle the shrimp with the head on. Im going to leave it all on for the rays though.

mine ate a small crayfish as well.... so yea even for the aro.... my aro eats shell and tail on..

I think Im going to leave it all on for the ray and take off the head for the aro. Its about 14" and I dont know if its big enough to handle an entire shrimp with the head on at this point.

The shrimp I buy frozen have the heads removed. I have to take the shells off as my rays don't like shrimp shell.

the shell is a little extra calcium if i remember correctly

Shell also provides roughage to help things move along their digestive systems.

When I had rays I fed the frozen shrimp as well as a frozen seafood mix. They did get fresh seafood as well, squid and fresh salmon. I never fed whole fresh shrimp.

I feed my rays raw shrimp sometimes with and sometimes without the shells but I always remove the tails as there is a sharp spike on them. I think that this could hurt the insides of a ray or my Jardini if they ate it.
